Form ResearchA documentation of my work made in Form Studio during my MFA at California College of the Arts, taught by Rafi Aji. The images are an exploration of process. Each week, I was assigned a verb to perform, such as “to differ” “to chip” and “to smear,” which I used as a starting point to explore different ways of creating. The openness of the project forced me to think and work in new ways. I learned to be more experimental in my processes, using familiar tools in unexpected ways. My images were made by mixing digital and analog techniques, often using scanner manipulation as a method. I treated the scanner bed as a canvas, moving objects around it as it scanned. Some examples of materials I used are peanut butter, tin foil, plastic bags and water.
